Turlock Irrigation District
Turlock Irrigation District (TID) is the first publicly owned utility in the state. The company was founded in 1887. TID provides electric retail energy directly to homes, farms and businesses. The company is governed by a five member Board of Directors. As a public utility Turlock Irrigation District owns a diverse mix of generation facilities – a good portion of which are renewable or carbon free. Those facilities include solar, hydroelectric, wind, geothermal, and natural gas.
