JEA is an electric and power company in Jacksonville, one of the largest electricity suppliers in the state of Florida. The company was founded in 1895 and is one of the oldest power companies in the country. JEA is a community-owned electric utility. The company owns the power generation and distribution system. JEA owns five power plants in Jacksonville with a total capacity of about 3.3 gigawatts.

JEA was established by the City of Jacksonville to provide affordable and reliable electricity to residents and commercial customers.
