Currently, Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation supplies electricity to about 309,000 customers. The company is also the largest supplier of natural gas. Central Hudson has more than 1,000 employees.

Central Hudson's service area stretches from the northern suburbs of New York City to Albany. The company uses and maintains a large electric transmission grid. Central Hudson's electric distribution grid includes 7,200 pole miles of overhead lines and approximately 1,600 miles of underground electric transmission lines.
